Brandon Sheppard Concludes Speedweeks at Golden Isles Speedway
Rocket1 Racing Eyes Atomic and Brownstown Next
SHINNISTON, W. VA. (Mar. 9, 2026) — Brandon Sheppard capped the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Speedweeks with a top-10 finish Saturday night in the Wieland Winternationals finale at Golden Isles Speedway.
Sheppard raced as high as third in the Rocket1 Racing / Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Late Model before ultimately settling for an eighth-place finish in the eventful 50-lap feature.
“It’s been an awesome weekend,” Sheppard said. “Big thanks to all my guys for busting their butts this past month. We spent all of February on the road, so it’ll be nice to go home and regroup. Speedweeks was great to us, and I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum into Atomic and Brownstown.”
The Rocket1 Racing team shifted north from Florida to Golden Isles Speedway on Wednesday as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series wrapped up its Speedweeks slate at the Georgia oval.
Sheppard’s best performance of the week came during Wednesday’s opener, when he advanced one position in the 40-lap feature to finish third behind winner Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Hudson O'Neal.
After a 16th-place outing on Thursday and a 17th-place finish on Friday, Sheppard secured his spot in Saturday’s $25,000-to-win Wieland Winternationals finale with a runner-up finish in his heat race. He climbed as high as third in the feature before ultimately crossing the line eighth.
Sheppard currently sits seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
