Brandon Sheppard opens 2026 season at CAR
Brandon Sheppard took on Central Arizona Raceway this past weekend as the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout returned to its Arizona roots.
The six-race miniseries opened Saturday night with a $25,000-to-win A-Main, but Sheppard’s effort was derailed by engine trouble, forcing him to retire on lap 16.
Sheppard rebounded on Sunday, pairing a fifth-place finish in his heat race with a consolation victory. Starting from the ninth row in the feature, he advanced seven positions to finish 11th.
