Brandon Sheppard Dominates Conococheague 40 at Hagerstown Speedway
Flag-to-Flag Victory Nets $10,000, 38th Career LOLMDS Win
SHINNISTON, W. VA. (April 27, 2026) — Brandon Sheppard capped a rain-shortened eastern swing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in dominant fashion Sunday night, scoring a $10,000 victory at Maryland’s Hagerstown Speedway.
He led all 40 laps of the Conococheague 40—his fifth win of 2026 and the 38th tour triumph of his career—aboard the Rocket1 Racing / Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Late Model.
“It was awesome. Mark, Dan, Austin, Joel, Steve Baker, and everyone at Rocket Chassis have been working their tails off,” Sheppard said. “They’ve been giving me a great car night in and night out. There’s so much competition out here—you can have the fastest car and still not win—but I really feel like we’ve been fast all year. I don’t think I’ve felt bad at the track once this season.”
While the weekend ultimately ended in Victory Lane, Sheppard opened the swing Friday at Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway, where he backed up a heat race win with a solid fourth-place finish in the $21,049-to-win Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.
With Saturday’s program at BAPS Motor Speedway washed out, Sheppard made the most of Sunday’s finale at Hagerstown, setting fast time in his group before driving to a commanding, wire-to-wire victory in the 40-lap feature. He crossed the line 5.733 seconds ahead of overall fast qualifier Brandon Overton, with Hudson O’Neal completing the podium.
Sheppard currently sits fourth in the latest Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings.
