Sheppard records Summer Nationals top-10's at Brownstown and FALS
Brandon Sheppard’s race week kicked off early with a Tuesday afternoon appearance at Brownstown Bullring for the opening round of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.
Competing among 44 Late Model entries in his No. B5 machine, Sheppard followed up a runner-up finish in his heat race with a solid fourth-place performance in the 30-lap feature. He trailed Billy Moyer, Mike Harrison, and Shannon Babb to the checkered flag, with Tanner English rounding out the top five.
With the scheduled Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series weekend in Tennessee rained out, Sheppard returned to Hell Tour action on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway. After advancing from sixth to second in his heat, he battled to an eighth-place finish in the $10,000-to-win A-Main.
