BShep drives to a pair of Wild West Shootout podiums
Brandon Sheppard officially opened his 2025 season over the weekend at Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park, reuniting with Rocket Chassis for the opening round of the Wild West Shootout.
Competing against a strong field of 47 Super Late Models, Sheppard advanced to Saturday's A-Main with a second-place run in his heat race. Gunning for a $25,000 payday, Sheppard climbed five positions in the 50-lap affair to secure a third-place finish, joining Bobby Pierce and Garrett Alberson on the podium.
Back at the 3/8-mile oval on Sunday, Brandon backed up a runner-up showing in his heat with another strong performance in the feature, taking second once again. Sheppard engaged in a fierce battle for the lead with Bobby Pierce, but it was Pierce’s last-lap move that secured him the win, leaving Sheppard to settle for the runner-up spot.
